Our School Nursery
A Message from Mrs Twyman:
As you are aware at the end of last year, we were very excited to be putting together our bid for government funding to create a nursery setting as part of our school. The government announced that it would be committing an initial £15 million pounds of funding to help schools make spaces on their sites that are suitable for nursery provision.
This has been a vision we have had for our school moving forward. The bid was placed in December 2024.
I am completely overwhelmed and thrilled to be able to tell you that our full bid has been successful and that funding has been agreed. The plan of when exactly the setting will be open is not yet confirmed, although we will aim to open in Autumn 2025.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in support of the bid. It has been a passion of mine as lots of you know, to ensure that our school, our village and the wider community have a sustainable nursery and primary education for all future generations.
The proposal and its contents were put together very quickly and with the full drive, support and experience of The Stour Federation Multi Academy Trust. Without the commitment of the Trust and CEO, Christian Hilton, the bid would not have been completed and submitted. I would like to thank them for the commitment to our school and know that as we move forward, we will be able to draw down on their expertise. It is wholeheartedly appreciated.
This is a wonderful outcome for our school. And a very sunny day for us.
