Pupil Premium & Sports Premium
Introduced in 2011, the pupil premium is a sum of money given to schools each year by the Government to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. This is based on research showing that children from low income families perform less well at school than their peers. Wilmcote Primary School uses the pupil premium in a variety of ways as detailed in the following document.
The PE & Sports Premium was introduced by the Government to help schools achieve the aim of ensuring children have access to at least 60 minutes of sport and physical activity per day, with a recommendation of 30 minutes of this delivered during the school day (in line with the Chief Medical Officers guidelines which recommend an average of at least 60 minutes per day across the week).
